About Jill Storstein

Jill Storstein MSc, DipAc, MBAcC, GDip IFN.

I am an experienced and qualified acupuncturist and functional nutritional therapist offering holistic health care tailored specifically for your individual needs. After graduating from the Northern College of Acupuncture in 2013, I set up my first clinic in Edinburgh focussing on general practice treating mainly chronic health conditions and pain. In 2014, I joined the Natural Fertility Centre based at the Albany Street Clinic which has a strong focus on women's health and fertility support. In 2015, I moved to the Perthshire town of Aberfeldy and set up my general practice clinic there. In 2020, I made the decision to leave Edinburgh and focus my energies exclusively on the Aberfeldy practice where I offer support for women's health, fertility and chronic conditions. In 2022 I qualified as a Functional Nutritional Therapist from the Institute of Optimal Health.

Shortly after qualifying as an acupuncturist, I trained with Jim Chalmers in auriculotherapy and have incorporated that into my treatments. Auriculotherapy uses points on the ears selected by feeling for subtle changes in the pulse. There are hundreds of points on the ear relating to areas all over the body, mind and brain relating to mental-emotional balance, musculoskeletal areas, pain sensations and hormonal balance

Read more about Auriculotherapy here.

Working at the Natural Fertility Centre developed my deep interest in understanding and working with women's health and the impact stress and lifestyle can have. The aspect I enjoy most about my work is building a therapeutic relationship with my patients and supporting them through a difficult time in their lives whatever that may be. For some it may be supporting them whilst they are trying for a baby or going through IVF, for others it may be hormonal issues, menopausal changes, depression, chronic illness or back pain. I take the time to really listen to what is going on with patients and use acupuncture to help improve symptoms and wellbeing. I’m also keen to empower patients to understand their own bodies and health.

As a professional member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) and the British Association for Nutrition and lifestyle Medicine (BANT) , I adhere to the high standards of code of practice and conduct they dictates. I’m also required to undertake regular CPD (Continuing Professional Development) to keep my knowledge and skills fresh and up-to-date. I have undertaken extensive further formal training including completing a research project into Recurrent Miscarriage in fulfilment of an MSc in Acupuncture and a Diploma in Advanced Fertility Support. A list of the major CPD courses I have done is below. I also continue to develop my understanding of scientific biomedicine, nutrition and lifestyle research, Chinese medicine theory and acupuncture application through my own reading and research.
